Why I am going to school in China
My English name is Oven Bai, I was born in Canada . My family and I live in Canada . My father works at a university in Canada .
My father will teach at Beijing University this year because my dad has 3 months break, that is why my brother and I will go to school in china for 3 months to learn Chinese. My mom will go back to Canada after three weeks, because she has to work. After the three months is up, my dad will pick up us and we will go back to Canada .
We came to Beijing , China by plane August 25th. We stayed in Beijing for three days, in these 3 days my whole family went to the huge, unique Tiananmen Square and we visited the humungous Forbidden City . At last, my family climbed the never-lasting Great Wall. The experience was amazing!
The following day we went to my parents' hometown. First, my family and I rode a train to Nanyang , Henan . It took 18 hours to get from Beijing to Nanyang because it was a slow train. We arrived at Nanyang the morning of the 30th and we arrived in Xixia in the afternoon.
The next day we tried to find a school for my brother and I to go to but we could not find one. Finally we found Xixia No.1 Primary School. I got sent to Class 4-4 and my brother got sent to Class 2-2.
The reason we are going to school in china:
(1) My dad is teaching at Beijing university.
(2) My brother and I want to learn more Chinese.


Wonderful! I appreciate this short passage for the following reasons: First, the language is local. Especially the use of the words "pick up" "break" and so on. Second, the experience is very interesting! Very special! The most important is I strongly feel the homesick of the over-seas, though they are in foreign country, they never forget our country, they still hope their children to learn the mother tongue-----Chinese.

为什么我要到中国上学
西峡城区一小四四班 白东孚
我叫白东阜，出生在加拿大，家也在加拿大。我的爸爸在加拿大一个大学工作。今年我爸爸利用三个月假期到北京大学教书，所以我和弟弟将在中国学习三个月汉语。我的妈妈只在中国停留三个星期，然后就回加拿大工作了。 三个月过后，爸爸将带我和弟弟回加拿大的家。
8月25 日，我们乘飞机到达北京，在北京待了四天，全家人参观了威严、庄重的天安门广场、壮观的故宫，登上了八达岭长城好汉坡、游玩了鸟巢和水立方。然后乘火车到达河南南阳，用了18个小时，因为火车是一个慢车。8月30日早晨到达南阳，下午我们乘汽车回到爸爸妈妈的故乡--西峡。
第二天我们开始找学校，最后我们确定在西峡城区一小上学，我在四四班，弟弟在二二班，已经上学了。我们到中国上学的原因：我可以学到更多的母语--中文！
